More similar than different

If you look at the two Koreas, you’ll find that they are more similar than they are different. Physically, both have mountainous landscapes, common national interests (in the case of the Dokdo dispute), shared culture, language and food. South Korea is known for its highly competitive education system, with the top three universities (“SKY”) that is known to be extremely difficult to get in. Likewise in North Korea, there is a high emphasis placed on education, and the top three universities are Sungkyunkwan University, Kin Ch’aek Technical University and Kim Il-sung University.
