Family portraits

Family portraits are usually hung in homes of families to commemorate a special occasion or just as a mere keepsake. However in North Korea, you will find that there are two portraits in the place of a family portrait. I wonder how the people of North Korea feel about this, and if some of them actually feel honored to have the pictures of the Kim family in their home? Honestly, I think it would be rather intimidating for me to have what seems like two pairs of eyes watching me all the time, even in the privacy of my own home.
